This 3-cup espresso maker from La Cafetière allows for old school coffee making. The heat-conducting aluminium body boils the water quickly and efficiently. It works on a range of hobs, including traditional, gas and ceramic. The handle and knob are made from heat-resistant plastic, making handling and pouring easy. What are the benefits of using a stovetop?
Brew your coffee in true Italian style with this traditional method. If you enjoy a rich, dark and deep coffee, this is the perfect method for you. Brewing with a stove top espresso maker brings out the many flavours of the coffee and allows you to truly appreciate the complexity.
Detach the bottom chamber and remove the middle chamber (basket)
Fill the bottom chamber with cold water to the level of the valve.
Fill the middle chamber with ground coffee and level out the surface.
Place back into the bottom chamber and reattach to the espresso maker.
Open the lid and put the espresso maker on a low heat.
After a minute or so, the coffee should start to trickle through.
Take the espresso maker off the hob just before it starts to bubble. This is to avoid over extraction.
