It was first patented by Alfonso Bialetti in 1933 and has been a favourite amongst Europe for high quality brewing.

Once you have practiced a few times, this is an easy method which anyone can get to grips with.
First, boil however much water you will need for the amount of coffee you are making. We don’t recommend using old water from your kettle. For the best flavour, make sure the water is fresh.
The device is in two parts, so unscrew the bottom chamber from the top and take out the gasket.
Fill the bottom chamber with hot water to the level of the small valve.
Fill the funnel with fresh coffee and smooth out the surface.
Put the funnel back into the bottom chamber and reattach this to the top.
Open the lid and place the device on your hob, starting on a low hear.
The coffee should begin to trickle through. If it doesn’t, turn up the heat slightly. If it gushes through too quickly, turn down the heat.
Make sure to take it off the heat before it starts bubbling (this may take a few practices to master).
Serve and enjoy!
