Named after the place it was created; Peninsula is the espresso blend of choice for many of the Wirral’s finest coffee shops. Peninsula blend is made from equal parts high-grade Ethiopian and a rotating, high-grade South/Central American bean. The bright, sweet notes of blueberry and cherry come from its east African half, where the coffees are famous for their berry fruitiness and clarity of acidity. The south American half brings a nutty, frangipane sweetness to the cup, whether it’s a high-grade Honduran, Peruvian or Costa Rican.
Brewing Fundamentals
When brewed well, this blend is reminiscent of a Bakewell tart, or a blueberry frangipane and so is a perfect indulgence when enjoyed as a Flat White with a slice of your favourite cake on the side.
For the best results you’ll want to brew at 18g and look for around 37-40g out the other side, which is around a 1:2 brewing ratio. Push your brew time as close to 30 seconds so the brew is bright and sweet without being sour, and to ensure that the nutty, cakey sweetness has chance to develop.

I only bought a 227g to try along with 3 of the Nicaraguan Pineapple Candy which was my favourite so far – think its lost its place as this is really all-round drinkable but with a top quality sweet flavour & no bitterness. I like my coffees with a great aroma too & this certainly hits that mark It reminds me of my granny’s house when grandpa had coffee percolating all day years before coffee became trendy – hope it’ll always be available
