Aeropress Brew Guide and Video

Aeropress Instructions

  • Boil the kettle and preheat your cup. Place the filter in the cap and rinse with hot water, this will remove the papery taste.
  • Put the plunger into the body of the Aeropress and invert. The end you fix the cap onto should be facing upwards.
  • Place the coffee into the bottom of the Aeropress and bloom with 30ml water for 30 seconds. Agitate slightly.
  • Slowly pour the remaining 190ml into the chamber. Stir once or twice.
  • Replace the filter cap and wait 90 seconds – 2 minutes.
  • Invert onto your cup and plunge. * This takes about 20 seconds, it takes quite a bit of pressure to push the water through the filter. Stop when it starts to hiss. *

Aeropress FAQ

Why Use an Aeropress?

The Aeropress is ideal for producing a high quality cup of coffee at home, at work or while travelling. This gentle method of brewing makes an incredibly smooth cup with plenty of rich flavour. The combination of gentle air pressure and ideal water temperature removes the bitterness and lowers acidity levels otherwise associated with quick or instant coffee brewing methods.

The Aeropress is today the go to home brew method for many professional baristas, coffee professionals and enthusiasts, and it’s easy to see why.

  • Micro filtration makes a grit-free, smooth coffee
  • Professional Americano or Espresso styled coffee ready in no time
  • Always yields a consistent cup of coffee

Is The Aeropress Better Than A Cafetière?

The Aeropress is a lot more versatile than a cafetiere, it can be brewed in a few different ways (standard or inverted) and taken anywhere. But is it actually ‘better’? Yes, we think it is. There’s no sediment in the bottom of your cup and you have more control over the brewing process.

Does The Aeropress Make Good Espresso?

Whilst it can’t make genuine espresso, it can create short, concentrated shots that are espresso like. To create genuine espresso you need an espresso machine with 9 bars of pressure.

Which Coffee Works Well With An Aeropress?

The clarity the Aeropress provides when brewing allows the characteristics of the coffee to shine through. It’s a great way of showing off the nuanced flavours of our Single Plantation Range. Select the ‘Ground’ option and it’ll be ready to brew, or if choosing Beans, we recommend a medium – fine grind.

    Hi

A quick note to say thank you for the invitation to what proved to be a very interesting morning. The opportunity to taste some of your excellent coffee varieties was most welcome as was the opportunity to see different brewing methods.

I have now had the chance to use the AeroPress a few times and I am really very pleased with the results; it is certainly an improvement over the cafetiere I normally use.

I have three bags of coffee from you but will be in touch when stocks run low!

    Sincerely, Jonathan M

Highly recommend the Continental blend and the Aeropress, a cracking piece of kit, wish I’d found it sooner, so good I purchased a second one for work and when out and about. No more naff tasting coffee for me!
