At Adams and Russell, we love meeting all of our lovely customers and getting to know you at food festivals and shows. If you want to see all of the exciting shows we attended in 2017, you can take a look here.

We want to continue getting to know our customers, so we thought a great idea would be to formally introduce ourselves.

Our team at Adams and Russell is always growing and we are so lucky to have some brilliant people involved with the company. With a colourful array of talents, skills and opinions, we make a great team that works together to bring you fantastic coffee.

Tristan

Business Development Manager

Tristan

Tristan has become a real coffee expert and loves to give recommendations to pair you with your perfect blend. He believes that experience is key and the best way to learn about it is to drink it! His favourite time to drink coffee is in the morning and tries to cut down on his intake after lunch.

As business development manager he is always coming up with new and exciting ideas for our customers. Tristan takes great pride in maintaining our premium quality and making sure our team is happy and running smoothly.

 

What is your all-time favourite blend?

 

“My favourite coffee has to be the Nepal Mount Everest. It’s a rare bean that’s light and smooth.”

 

Best for: Americano

 

“The Guatemala Antigua Los Volcanes is a great one for an americano. It’s strong, rich and nutty and you can really taste all of the flavours. It has a smooth acidity which makes it an easy drink.”

 

Best for: Flat White

 

“The Continental Blend is a really popular choice. I love it because it’s strong and chocolatey. Perfect for a flat white.”

 

Best for: Cold Weather

 

“The Papua New Guinea because it’s full bodied and makes you happy!”

 

Dan

Meet Dan. His favourite part of the job is meeting customers and passing on his expert knowledge of coffee. He loves that you can never stop learning about coffee and there is an endless amount of lessons to be taught.

He works closely with our business customers to ensure they are receiving the best coffee for their wants and needs. He likes to impress with his highly-skilled barista training and our team has learnt some great coffee tricks as a result.

What is your all-time favourite blend?

“If I had to choose, the Yemen Mocha Matari would definitely be my top pick. It has an intense flavour and the aroma is amazing.”

 

When is the best time to drink coffee?

 

“I usually have coffee at 10am and 3pm. At 10am my energy dips slightly, so I have a coffee to give me a boost. I then enjoy a coffee at 3pm to keep my energy up for the rest of the afternoon.”

 

Andy

Warehouse Operations

 

Andy

Andy is known at Adams and Russell for making our warehouse tick. He always checks on his team mates to make sure everyone is happy and loves to help out and give some coffee advice.

The warehouse can sometimes get a little hectic, but Andy is there to make sure everything runs smoothly and stays in order. He makes sure all orders are perfectly packaged and in top condition for our customers.

What is your all-time favourite blend?

 

“Definitely the Colombian Pico de Águila. It’s a medium roast and tastes like chocolate and nut.”

When is the best time to drink coffee?

 

“The afternoon is the best time to drink coffee! I always have energy in the morning, so I need it in the afternoon to keep me going until the end of the day.”

 

What is your favourite brewing method?

 

“For me, the V60 drip method is the best. It has great extraction that creates a light bodied coffee.”

 

Tom

Head Roaster

Tom

 

Tom will ensure that your coffee is freshly roasted to perfection. He is an expert when it comes to roasting beans and knows exactly how to get the best flavour. The whole team admires his passion for coffee and it is evident in the top-quality beans he roasts.

He has drank a lot of coffee to build his knowledge and loves to give recommendations to our customers.

 

What is your all-time favourite blend?

 

“My favourite is the Ethiopian Kilenso Mokonisa due to the apricot jam notes. I’ve never tasted another coffee like it.”

 

When is the best time to drink coffee?

 

“I have 3 cups at work every day without fail. If I had to pick a favourite time, I’d probably say around dinner time when I’m relaxing in the evening. But, I never drink coffee after 7pm otherwise I can’t sleep.”

 

What is your favourite brewing method?

 

“V60 all the way! It gives a really nice clean taste.”

Best for: Espresso

 

“The Velvet Blend is great for espresso so you can appreciate all of the sweet and spicy flavours.”

 

Best for: Flat White

 

“The Continental Blend because it tastes chocolatey which goes great with milk.”

 

Best for: Winter

 

“Has to be the Christmas Blend.”

 

What is your favourite thing about coffee?

 

“Everything! All the different flavours, roast profiles, countries of origin and production methods. I love how you can turn one bean into so many different flavours.”
